A Three-field Based Optimization Formulation for Flow Simulations in Networks of Fractures on Nonconforming Meshes

چکیده
A new numerical scheme is proposed for flow computation in complex discrete fracture networks. The method based on a three-field domain decomposition framework which independent variables are introduced at the interfaces generated process of decoupling original problem whole network into set fracture-local problems. PDE-constrained formulation then used to enforce compatibility conditions interfaces. combination and optimization-based coupling strategy results novel can handle nonconforming meshes, independently built each geometrical object computational domain, ensures local mass conservation property intersections, paramount importance hydrogeological applications. An iterative solver devised method, suitable parallel implementation computing architectures.
